The contact owns a 2001 Jeep Cherokee. The contact stated while driving 10 mph, the vehicle lost motive power without warning and there was smoke coming from the engine. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic and diagnosed that the top cylinder was faulty. The vehicle was then towed to a dealer, but the dealer informed the contact that they did not repair vehicles older than 2006 and would only order a part to cover the manifold. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2001 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE FAILED TO START-UP. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO INFORMED THE CONTACT THE SENDING UNIT IN THE FUEL TANK WAS INOPERABLE. A VAPOR LOCK CAUSED THE VEHCILE TO NOT START-UP. THE MECHANIC WAS UNABLE TO LOCATE REPLACEMENT PARTS. THE LOCAL DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 280,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.

OVERHEAD DISPLAY CEASES TO WORK. ONLINE FORUMS HAVE POINTED TO A FAULTY WIRING HARNESS THAT HAS TO BE REPLACED AT CONSIDERABLE COST. IF THE HARNESS IS FAULTY COULD IT CAUSE AN ELECTRICAL PROBLEM?
