The contact owns a 2019 Honda CR-V. The contact stated that the vehicle was repaired under NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V858000 (Fuel System, Gasoline) at 10,000 in 2021. The contact stated that the vehicle stalled while driving out of a car wash. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was towed to the local dealer and was restarted. The vehicle was diagnosed and determined that the battery and fuel pump needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was contacted, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 30,422.

2019 Honda CR-V, 74,429 miles. Steering wheel exhibits stickiness/notchiness when turning or making slight corrections and does not return to center on its own. Matches other CR-V owner reports of "sticky steering," the subject of an NHTSA investigation/recall on related model years and Honda/Acura platforms sharing the same EPS rack/gearbox. COMPONENT: Electric power steering (EPS) rack/steering column is suspected. Vehicle is in my possession and available for inspection upon request. RISK: Steering failing to self-center, plus intermittent stickiness during turns/corrections, risks needing sudden extra force to move the wheel, which could cause overcorrection and loss of control, especially at highway speed or during lane changes. DEALER CONFIRMATION: Honda Lisle, ILtest drove the vehicle on 7/22/26 and verbally confirmed notchiness. He later left a voicemail stating the only fix is full power steering rack replacement, verbally quoted at $5,500. Nothing was documented in writing...

The contact owns a 2019 Honda CR-V. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds and attempting to make a left or right turn, the steering wheel became difficult to maneuver, with an abnormal clicking sound coming from the steering wheel. No warning light was illuminated. A dealer was contacted. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed; however, the result was unknown. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 60,000.

Multiple lights and warnings on dashboard of 2019 Honda CRV. Warnings were sudden and all at once and included, Emissions system problem, braking problem, power steering problem, collision mitigation system problem, electric parking brake problem and many others. Honda service centers stated this is a very known problem with 2019 CRV and it’s the fuel injectors and head gasket.

The steering wheel is sticky or “catching,” especially on straight away at higher speeds. This model was recalled for a similar issue in 2017-2018.
