2025 Honda CR-V Complaints

The contact owns a 2025 Honda CR-V. The contact stated that the steering wheel was loose. There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact associated the failure with NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V744000 (Steering). The vehicle was taken to the local dealer to be diagnosed, and it was determined that the power steering rack needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. This model has a safety problem with a dangerous distraction caused by the entertainment system while backing up. When you start the car, the entertainment system begins a boot-up cycle that takes 5 to 10 seconds. During that time the driver can put the car into reverse and begin reversing. While driving in reverse, when the entertainment system finishes starting up, it will resume whatever it was doing when the car was shut off. If the radio was on, the radio will come on. If bluetooth was selected, it will send a "play" command to the attached bluetooth device. This is dangerously distracting to the driver. Worse, it is impossible to turn the entertainment system off when the car is in reverse. If driver wishes to not be dangerously distracted by the loud audio, they need to (1) stop moving, (2) shift into D, (3) tap the "acknowledge" button on the touchscreen display, (4) only then can they turn off the audio. Two local dealers were contacted and confirmed that the part was not yet available. The dealer informed the contact that the vehicle was 83rd on a waiting list. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was unreachable. The contact had not experienced a failure.

The contact stated that while driving on a toll road, there was an abnormally loud sound coming from the engine and vehicle started losing automotive power and the vehicle decelerated unintendedly. The vehicle was later towed to a local dealer who inspected the engine and discovered metal shavings inside the engine oil. The cause of the engine failure was not yet determined, and the vehicle was not yet repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. No further information was available. My concern is with the tire pressure monitoring system. The vehicle does not show the individual PSI for each tire. Instead, when there is a tire pressure concern, it alerts the driver and instructs the driver to pull over somewhere safe and manually check the tire pressure. The issue became more concerning after one of my tires was replaced with a different tire brand than the other tires. Since then, the vehicle has continued to display a warning message on the dashboard to check the tires. This creates a serious safety issue because if the warning message is already constantly appearing, I may not be properly alerted if there is an actual tire problem, such as a flat tire, dangerously low tire pressure, or another tire failure. The warning becomes less reliable because the driver cannot easily tell whether the alert is due to the existing tire mismatch issue or a new, urgent tire safety problem.
