2018 Ford Edge Complaints

Not sure if this is due to the recall from 2025 that does not have a remedy yet but driving my car makes me extremely nervous because my brakes are becoming difficult to use. Just wondering what I can do and what options have.

Cylinder #2 misfire code repeatedly appearing even after changing spark plug and ignition coil. Took to the Ford dealer and it was determined it is an issue of coolant leakage in cylinder number 2. Ford dealer has diagnosed and performing engine replacement. Seems like this is a known problem that Ford refuses to issue an actual recall for and instead puts onto the customer.

The contact owns a 2018 Ford Edge. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the heating system was enabled; however, the heater system failed to provide adequate heat as intended. The contact became aware that cool air was coming out of the vents. The contact stated that an unknown warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed with coolant intrusion in cylinder #3. The contact was informed that the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure, and a case was filed. Additionally, the repair was not covered under a recall. The failure mileage was approximately 100,000.

Engine overheated, Few months prior I got a check engine light for engine misfire, I changed the spark plugs several times, then I changed the ignition coil; but still having the same issue. One day, the vehicle stalled on the highway because it suddenly overheated (the engine drank all the coolant) White smoke coming from exhaust and coolant drains every 2 days. Took it to the mechanic and was told its head gasket problem. Took it to Ford service center and was told I need to replace the engine. The cost is $9800. Ford is offering no financial assistance. TSB 19-2345 highlights the issue yet Ford refuses to help customers experiencing this problem. I’m unable to drive the vehicle because it fails the state inspection even with a temporary fix.

Coolant leakage in cylinder number (2) two. Causing a misfire and check engine light to display. Ford dealer has diagnosed and suggested engine replacement. Upon researching, this seems to be a known issue with this motor and can cause complete failure.
