2020 Ford Edge Complaints

While driving the HVAC stops working, radio locks at current setting (cannot turn volume up or down, etc.), screen goes blank or locks, windows do not open or close. Their are multiple warnings about sensors not working. Malfunctioning driver assist jerks wheel when driving through a restaraunt drive-thru. Had the sensor replaced for the adaptive cruise control and it did not correct the cruise issue. The issue initially started with the monitor screen going blank randomly and then progressing to the above issues. This had been happening for the last 2 or 3 years before the above accured.

The vehicle hesitates, jumps, and then surges into gear when accelerating from low speed, which I believe makes it difficult and hazardous merging into traffic and other driving situations. Due to the hesitation it is unable to get up to speed very easily or quickly on busy interstate roads. The hesitation, jumping, and surging has gotten progressively worse and occurs at higher speeds now. It seems like it now does this during each gear shift. I am a longtime Ford owner I previously drove a 2001 F150 with little to no problems, it reached around 280,000 miles before it's trade in. I now have a 2020 Edge SEL 2.0 AWD and have really enjoyed this car until this problem started. It was bought in March of 2024 with 62k miles and it now has 92k. The problem initially only surfaced after the car had bene on and moving for a while and it was very subtle. I could not tell if it was engine or tranny and it was only barely noticeable. The transmission has been serviced regularly. It is starting to jerk at lower speeds. I have had two auto mechanics from different shops and locations inspect the transmission. Both have found shaved metal in the transmission fluid. After a call to two different Ford dealerships, the auto mechanics were informed that it is a problem with these transmissions, but Ford has not issued a recall. If I have to replace the transmission, I will be contacting an attorney for assistance. There have been no warning lights or alarms indicating that there are problems with the transmission. Because there are no warning lights on the dashboard, it has been hard to diagnose the actual problem. Of course, I am approximately 6000 miles over the extended warranty. At the time I took the car to the shop, the mileage was 79,465.

Torque Converter failed Car jerks at low speeds. Car was unsafe to drive, vehicle had trouble accelerating when needed. Ford Garage inspected vehicle and diagnosed the problem. There was no warning lamps or messages.

Recently had the torque converter replaced for shuddering/shifting weird. Although there is no more shuddering, the car still does not seem to be shifting correctly. It hesitates between shifting gears and will then accelerate quickly. It was seen at the shop again today and they could not find any issues with it although I was told it will likely do it again for me and to let them know. There have not been an indicator lights.
