2021 Lincoln Corsair Complaints

The contact owns a 2021 Lincoln Corsair. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Numbers: 22V953000 (Seat Belts) and 23V022000 (Back Over Prevention) however, the parts to do the recall repairs were not yet available. The local dealer was contacted. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repairs. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. Parts distribution disconnect.

The backup camera gets a blue screen. It was repaired via a recall, however it still occurs while backing up.

The hands free sensor on the liftgate will randomly allow the door to open with the key as far as 20 feet or more from the vehicle. The liftgate opened on its own from the motion of a garage door, becoming entangled with the garage door and damaging the door. The door has opened on its own at least twelve times without a person standing directly in front of the rear bumper making a kicking motion. Ford has failed to provide any technical specifications for the door, including the acceptable distance at which the key must be from the vehicle for motion to activate the door and the distance at which motion must occur. As a result the vehicle cannot be safely stored in a garage. The vehicle poses a safety hazard of striking a passerby who may walk behind it when the key is nearby, and has opened at least three times in such a manner. I took my car in on 2/22/23 to fix the second back up camera recall. However on the night of 2/23/23 the whole screen went blue when put in reverse, and on the morning of 2/24/23 just the rear camera went blue. In both cases I fixed the issue by turning off and restarting the car.

The contact took the vehicle to the dealer, where the vehicle was repaired; however, while driving 10 MPH, the vehicle stalled. The vehicle was towed to the dealer. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 32,000.
