2018 Jeep Renegade Complaints

Touchscreen radio delamination issue renders touchscreen unusable to use or control any and all settings, Bluetooth unresponsive, SiriusXM and FM radio random station change with no control, maps and Gps, phone, emergency services alerts, climate control, safety settings, interior and exterior lighting controls, all no longer accessible or functioning.

UConnect screen is out. Started glitching but now it is completely black yet the touch part of it is responsive?? Now if only i could remember EXACTLY where everything is located and in what order.. haha. Not. Also I have no backup camera view, not being able to see what temp my ac/heat is at or which mode it is on. What time is it even? How do i turn on the passenger heated seat for my daughter in the mornings and evenings when the temperature outside is below zero? How do i know where my next turn is when i am driving to a destination with my children and this is the first time i have ever seen, much less been on this road? It sucks!! And my android auto is no longer an option... music?? The safety i could put myself and others in by having to look at and use my phone to change songs, artists, podcasts, make a call or change a gps route... not cool! Also the "fog light" running light on my passenger side does not work at times despite having changed the bulb, wiring, even thou...

The contact owns a 2018 Jeep Renegade. The contact stated while driving approximately 45 MPH, the vehicle lost motive power. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was able to be restarted. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed with engine failure. The contact was informed that the engine needed to be repaired. The vehicle was not repaired. The dealer advised the contact that if the engine was not repaired, to monitor and check the engine oil levels regularly. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure, and a case was opened. The approximate failure mileage was 82,425.

Description of Incident / Failure The vehicle’s center infotainment/display screen malfunctioned and became partially inoperable. The left side of the screen displays vertical colored lines, while the remainder of the screen is dark/black and unresponsive. As a result, the backup camera display is no longer visible, and touchscreen functionality is severely limited or unusable. Component or System That Failed The failed component appears to be the infotainment touchscreen/display unit, including the integrated rearview (backup) camera display system. The vehicle and the defective screen are currently available for inspection upon request. Safety Risk This failure created a safety risk because the backup camera is required for safe reversing, especially when pedestrians, children, or objects may be behind the vehicle.
