The contact owns a 2018 Jeep Renegade. The contact stated that while accelerating from a red light, the vehicle suddenly shut off and stalled in the middle of the intersection. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic shop, where the contact suffered a heat-related stroke due to the high temperature. The vehicle was subsequently transferred to a licensed dealer, where technicians diagnosed a failure within the Engine Control Module (ECM/PCM), commonly referred to as the vehicle's "brain." The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 60,000.

I was on a hill and the car stalled. Or sometimes it has trouble starting and the starter and alternator and battery are fine.

I was turning into a residenr parking lot and the engine stopped running as I was turning. Fortunately no car was oncming and there was no accident in my case. Could not get my vehicle started. It had to be towed to the local Jeep dealer where they determined the fuel pump failed with just 61k mileage. I was told that the recall was for just vehicles using E85 fuel . But have discussed with other owners of standard fueled vehicles who had similar issues with their vehicles. I hope this is looked into for future safety issues to be resolved.
