    The contact owns a 2008 Ford Edge. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle started to jerk, and the contact became aware of a burning odor. The contact pulled over off the roadway. The check engine warning light intermittently illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the water pump had failed. The water pump was replaced however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken back to the independent mechanic where it was diagnosed and determined that the brakes had failed and needed to be replaced; however, the failure recurred. The check engine warning light illuminated, and the low oil pressure warning light illuminated.     The contact owns a 2008 Ford Edge. The contact stated that while his son was driving at an undisclosed speed, the front driver's side wheel hub fractured, and the wheel detached. The driver was able to veer to the side of the road, where the vehicle remained. The contact stated that the failure had previously occurred with the front driver's side wheel hub, and all four of the service wheel hub spindles had been replaced. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but provided no assistance. The failure mileage was 229,703.
