  • Electrical System, service Brakes 07/13/2026

    The transmission shift cable fails to engage go into reverse or park when car is starting up. It fails to maintain connection and has resulted in near misses when backing up or attempting to get around another vehicle in a parking lot. This appears to be an issue associated with an ongoing safety recall that has NOT had a timely remedy as it has now been 10 months (as of October 2025) since the recall was first announced. No remedy has been reached. Incident appears related to the 2019 recall.

The local dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 98,000.

The contact was informed that the gear shifter cable needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact was informed that the parts were unavailable to repair the vehicle. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V674000 (Power Train); however, the part to do the recall repair was unavailable. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure, and a case was filed. The contact was advised to pay out of pocket for the repair and later submit a request for reimbursement. The failure mileage was approximately 86,000.
