2025 Acura Integra Complaints

  • Forward Collision Avoidance 07/03/2026

While approaching a slowing car on the offramp, the Acura's automatic braking slammed on the brakes abruptly while flashing "Brake" on the dash. The car stopped well short of the car in front. This abrupt, uncommanded stopping resulted in a near miss whereby the driver behind my car nearly hit me. In addition to stopping sooner than required, and thus giving the driver behind me less chance to react, the system did not apply full braking force, but more like 90-95% of maximum braking force. This is an example of Schroedinger's automatic emergency braking, where a situation is simultaneously "unavoidable" such that the car intervenes, yet not dire enough to apply full braking. This car will stop from 60mph in less than 110 feet, but the system appears to be calibrated for a much lower performance car with tires made of wood, such as an A-Spec or Technology Package Acura. This car has had previous incidents of defective automatic braking at low speeds, however with nobody behind me thes...

  • Air Bags 07/10/2026

The contact owns a 2025 Acura Integra. The contact stated that while driving through an intersection at approximately 15 MPH, another vehicle ran the red light and struck the front passenger’s side of the vehicle, causing the contact to crash into another vehicle before coming to a stop. The contact stated that upon the initial impact, his wife's head struck the front passenger’s side window. The contact stated that there was a delay in the side curtain air bag deploying, and the passenger was trapped between the air bag and the side window. The contact exited the vehicle from the driver's side and opened the passenger’s side door from the outside to free his wife. There was no warning light nor audible sounds before the crash. The vehicle was towed to a tow yard. A Police report was filed. The front seat passenger sustained a bump on the right side of the head, bruising on the left cheek, jaw, and chest, blurred vision in the left eye, an injury to the bridge of her nose, muscle ache...

  • Unknown Or Other 06/07/2026

On Sunday, June 7th at around 1330, the sunroof spontaneously exploded outward while driving in Amarillo, TX. Was driving at highway speed, 60mph on I-27. No overpass above and no cars in front. Was around 95 degrees and sunny outside. Loud explosion inside of car, then sounds of glass going on top of roof and back deck of car. Driver of car did not swerve but immediately braked and pulled to side of highway but did cause immediate distress. Passenger in car also was extremely distressed when loud noise occurred. Car behind us saw black glass go upward and out ward with glass landing on their car which caused then to immediately slow down on highway. We were fortunate to have the inside sliding panel closed when this occurred protecting the occupants from immediately glass and possible injuries.

  • Steering 07/01/2026

I am writing to formally escalate an unaddressed, severe safety defect regarding my 2025 Acura Integra Type S (Current Mileage: ~5,000 miles). My vehicle is experiencing the exact mechanical "sticky steering" and steering gearbox binding symptoms outlined in NHTSA Campaign 24V-744. While driving at highway speeds, the steering wheel sticks in the dead-center position and requires a sudden, jerky physical force to break it free to maintain lane control. This creates an immediate, highly dangerous accident risk. I have already presented this vehicle to my local Acura dealership multiple times for diagnosis. Because the defect is thermal and intermittent, the dealership technicians have stated they "cannot replicate" the issue on their short test drives, and because my specific VIN is not actively flagged on the recall database, their hands are tied under standard procedures.

The steering wheel feels sticky whenever I take a curve, turn, or simply change lanes. I have to apply some force to recenter it. It has been an ongoing problem for about three weeks.
