2007 Toyota Tundra Complaints

  • Fuel System, Gasoline 12/15/2024

    The contact owns a 2007 Toyota Tundra. The contact stated while driving at 45 MPH, the accelerator pedal was depressed, and the vehicle failed to respond. The check engine warning light was illuminated. On a separate occasion, the contact stated that while driving uphill or driving forward, the vehicle lost motive power while depressing the accelerator pedal. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic; however, the vehicle was not diagnosed. The vehicle was then taken to a dealer, where it was diagnosed with air injection pumps and air injection switching valves failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and offered the contact an Extended Warranty. The contact was informed that the dealer would reach out to her; however, when the dealer contacted the contact, the contact was informed that the vehicle was not covered under an Extended Warranty. The failure mileage was approximately 74,268.

    The contact owns a 2007 Toyota Tundra. The contact stated that occasionally while driving at various speeds on bumpy road surfaces, the fuel tank was scraping against the pavement. The contact stated that upon inspection from the outside, the contact became aware that the fuel tank was hanging abnormally low and the bracket holding up the brake lines and fuel lines were completely rusted. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic to be diagnosed, and the contact was informed that due to the abnormal amount of rust on the sub frame, the vehicle was not safe to be driven. The contact was informed that the entire sub frame needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 142,255.

  • Power Train, vehicle Speed Control, engine 08/14/2024

    Check engine light came on suddenly and acceleration slowed… truck will no longer go over 30 mph. Replaced radiator, driver air injection module, and regularly changed oil. no check engine light now the injection module was replaced but truck still will not go over 30 mph or 1800-2000 rpm’s.

    Undercoating of vehicle was not properly installed causing the frame to rust out creating a serious safety concern as the fuel tank can fall from the vehicle due to extensive rust. Toyota is aware of this situation however refuses to repair the problem.

    There is still many of these Toyota tundras out there that have frame problems! Like mine which had a bad frame but spent half its life in Florida during the winners and within 4 years of being in New York showed rust in within another 4 years had holes in the frame! Toyota coated my frame three different times to buy time to get it off the timeline for the recall! It's a 2007 tundra SR5 with a bad frame
