2014 Ram 1500 Complaints

I am submitting a safety complaint regarding my 2014 Ram 1500 Tradesman. While driving, the vehicle suddenly experienced a complete loss of power steering without any warning. At the same time, the power steering warning light began flashing and the dashboard lights started flicker. Because the power steering failed unexpectedly, I was unable to steer the truck normally. We nearly crashed into a store because the vehicle would not turn as needed. This created an immediate and serious safety hazard that could have resulted in severe injuries or fatalities. The simultaneous loss of power steering and electrical issues, including the flickering dashboard lights, suggest a possible failure affecting critical vehicle systems. This defect occurred without warning and made the vehicle unsafe to operate. I am requesting that the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) investigate this issue, as it presents a significant safety risk and could affect other owners of 2014 Ram 1...

I am reporting a safety concern with my 2014 Ram 1500, which recently reached 100,000 miles. The ABS module has failed, and replacement parts are not available to repair this critical safety system. Many other Ram owners appear to be experiencing the same issue. Additionally, my airbag warning light is on, creating further concerns about vehicle safety. A failure of essential safety systems with no available repair solution is unacceptable. I urge Ram/Stellantis to make parts available and resolve this issue as soon as possible to ensure the safety of drivers and passengers.

2014 Ram 1500 Fuel tank strap frame brackets corroded causing fuel tank to fall unsupported. 2009-2012 Ram pickup trucks were recalled (Recall U04 / NHTSA 18V-160) for this exact safety problem. Why isn't the 2014 Ram pickup covered under this recall?

ABS Control Module needed and is not available. Warning lights on dashboard for Traction and Anti Lock Brakes. No part is available. No repair is available due to no parts available. My truck is unsafe to drive. Just over 7,000 miles on my truck. Truck not usable due to being unsafe without new part.

The contact owns a 2014 Ram 1500. The contact stated that upon attempting to drive the vehicle in the morning, the power steering failed, rendering the vehicle undrivable. No warning lights illuminated prior to the failure. The vehicle was towed to a friend's residence, and a friend of the contact, who was an independent mechanic, diagnosed an internal electronic power steering unit fault. No further information was available. The contact stated that the "Service Power Steering" warning message was displayed on the instrument panel. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 230,000.
