The dealer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the VIN was not included in the recall. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 20 - 25 MPH, the brake pedal was depressed and went to the floorboard. The brakes failed to stop the vehicle immediately. The vehicle coasted to the curb of the contact's mother's residence. At the mother's residence, an independent mechanic diagnosed that there was brake fluid underneath the vehicle, and the rear passenger's side brake hose was replaced. The dealer was made aware of the failure and scheduled an upcoming appointment for the recall repair to be performed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and advised the contact to file a complaint with the NHTSA Hotline. The failure mileage was approximately 99,200.
