2021 Land Rover Range Rover Velar Complaints

This complaint is filed regarding an inoperable vehicle subject to active safety recall NHTSA 26V-248 / JLR Campaign D126. My 2021 Range Rover Velar MHEV experienced a total charging failure and loss of motive power caused by an internal failure of the 48V-to-12V DC-DC converter (boost control microchip defect). A professional diagnostic confirmed the 12V battery is viable, but the DC-DC converter has zero output and is throwing charging communication faults. The vehicle is completely disabled and unsafe to drive. Jaguar Land Rover North America and its authorized dealerships refuse to service, replace the failed component, or ground the vehicle under the recall campaign without requiring multi-thousand-dollar out-of-pocket payment from me, citing 'remedy not yet available.' JLR has also refused alternative mobility/loaner support for a vehicle grounded directly by this federally acknowledged safety hazard.

RECALL REMEDY FAILURE-DEALER DENIED SAFETY REPAIR On 7/31 vehicle would shut off after cranking up. Eventually got a check engine light. I was out of town at the time and it was 630pm. I was able to take vehicle to a Advanced Auto so they could do a quick diagnostic check. Codes P0505--Idle Air Control System DTC Severity 2 of 3 and P0507--Idle Control System RPM Higher than expected also showed. I was able to drive back home but had to immediately give the car gas for the car to stay running. On 8/3 I contacted Land Rover/Jaguar and was told to bring the car in 8/4 for an appointment. By my 8/4 appointment I had already researched what could have been wrong with my vehicle and found that a recal for the same issue was done in 2022. Recall number--N627 H376..My land rover and VIN was associated with this recall. Once I arrived at the dealership and the car was looked at--it was determined the PCV assembly was bad (positive crankcase ventilator) and purge valve was bad. This is the exa...

The backup camera on my 2021 Velar has stopped functioning. Service confirmed not a wiring issue and claims it is the NFSM Module not functioning correctly. There are several recalls on the module that include the model and year of my Velar. Although my VIN number is not included in the recall, it is highly suspect that it is a known faulty module for the year and model amongst other models from 2020-2024. It is a safely hazard and one that should not fall under the consumers responsibility. This make, model, year and VIN needs to be added to the recall. Please do the right thing and have it included in the recall. Thank you!

The local dealer was contacted, but the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired due to parts not being available. The manufacturer was notified of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure.
