At 22,000 miles, driving along at approximately 40mph, vehicle felt like it surged - check engine light went on and message of "limited acceleration - drive with care" appeared. Key cycled the car, CEL and message remained. Car would then not drive higher than 3rd or 4th gear and at limited speed as I tried to get it home. Once I pulled into my driveway message appeared "Service Transmission Now - Unable to Shift Soon." Car would then not move when shifted into any gear, including reverse. Had vehicle towed to dealer where they found the transmission valve body needed to be replaced. There are no available parts anywhere in the country and was told this could be a long wait for repair. Upon searching, there are 2020-22 GM vehicles with similar issues like Chevy and GMC where they have recalled the valve body, but the 2023 Cadillac CT5-V is not included in this and likely should be. My dealer told me my CT5 is not the only one they have currently waiting on this exact part...

We just purchased this 2023 Cadillac CT5 from Cadillac of South Charlotte and took delivery by long haul truck at our home in Seymour, TN on [XXX]. It had 40,744 miles on the odometer. We drove the car approximately 12 miles when suddenly the car went into reduced power mode where it would not shift past 4th or 5th gear limiting our speed to approximately 45 miles per hour. We drove slowly to the closest GM Service location that was just a few miles away and during that time the message started alternating to another message that said the transmission was about to seize. At that point we had the car towed to Cadillac of Knoxville and the next day they told us that the transmission control valve body was bad. I have since learned that General Motors has recalled over 90,000 vehicles due to a transmission control valve issue that can cause the wheels to momentarily lock up, increasing the risk of a crash. Supposedly the affected models include just the 2020-2021 Cadillac CT4, CT5, 2019-2...

Entire electrical and safety systems, every light on dashboard was lit up, all kinds of safety warning light were on! Because manufacturer uses plant-based materials to wrap wiring, it caused an infestation of rodents that had a snack on my wiring! I could have been in real safety danger had I been on the highway!
