The steering wheel clockspring ribbon was worn down in the middle, resulting in an open circuit of the SRS. The wear is between the ribbon and inside wall of the container that houses the ribbon. It appears to be a designing flaw or manufacturing defect. The wear was discovered by tearing down the clockspring unit. Airbag light on the dashboard was lit in November 2023. Replaced the clockspring unit on 2/17/2024. Without fixing the problem, the airbag on the steering wheel does not function when needed.

The car burns oil excessively, I bought this car 11/07/2022 every week to 2 weeks I have to put 2-2 1/2 quarts of oil in. There is nothing wet under the car no oil stains anywhere so oil is not leaking. I spend so much money on oil it's not normal.

LOSS OF ELECTRICAL POWER STEERING Automatic cruise control affected- not working. Does not maintain speed when using DRCC. mechanic states there is a problem with ECU response. loud revving sound heard after repeated attempts to use DRCC my other 2015 toyota camry base was affected and approved for repair still awaiting recall for this 2015 toyota camry XLE

To the esteemed officials of the US Department of Transportation, My name is [XXX] and I am the owner of a 2015 Toyota Camry SE. I recently had my car repaired for a completely separate issue and while I addressed a problem with the steering, my mechanic made me aware of a 2015 recall for the Electrical Power Steering electronic control unit. I was provided with information regarding it. While my VIN number was not listed as an automobile affected by this issue, it is evident that this is what's occurring. My days have been spent on the phone with the manufacturer and was told numerous times that my VIN number was not identified in said recall. As a result, I was told not to drive my car due to it being a safety concern, meaning I could lose overall control of the car, and I am now lacking transportation. Steering pulls and is loose. Worse when braking. Intermittent problem. Acts like what I see has been recall on the 2015 Camry. Why not my vehicle? Just started. I have owned vehicle since 2017.
