I am writing to bring to your attention a critical safety concern regarding the 2019 Hyundai Accent, specifically regarding the persistent issue of oil burning in the engine. This problem has affected my vehicle, as well as numerous other owners of the same model year. Despite being well within the warranty period, when I brought my 2019 Hyundai Accent with approximately 50,000 miles to the dealership for repairs due to excessive oil consumption, I was met with refusal to address the issue under warranty. Upon further inquiry, it has come to my attention that this problem is widespread among Hyundai engines, with many owners experiencing similar issues. The consequences of this oil burning problem are not only financially burdensome for owners who are forced to continuously add oil between changes, but also pose a significant safety risk. The contact owns a 2019 Hyundai Accent. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the oil warning light frequently blinked on the instrument panel. The contact called an independent mechanic who inspected the vehicle. The mechanic discovered that the vehicle was consuming an excessive amount of engine oil. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer where an oil consumption test was performed, and an engine cleaning was performed to correct the failure. Despite the repair, the failure persisted. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but offered no assistance. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 66,000.
