The contact owns a 2015 Hyundai Accent. The contact stated that after parking the vehicle in the garage, approximately four hours later the contact was awakened by the dog and discovered flames coming from the garage. The fire department was called to the home and extinguished the flames. During the incident the home was partially destroyed and deemed unlivable and the vehicle was also destroyed. A fire report was taken at the scene. The home insurance inspector later indicated that the fire originated from the engine compartment of the vehicle. No physical injuries were reported, but the contact had experienced severe stress and anxiety from the incident. The manufacturer was not contacted regarding the incident. The local dealer was notified. The contact was informed that the VIN was not included in the NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V651000(Service Brakes, Hydraulic). The contact stated that recently the vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic for service and the independent mechanic noticed corrosion on the brake line and the ABS control. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that the dealer was contacted and made aware of the failure, and that the recall repair for undercoating was not completed. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but provided no assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 46,225.

The contact owns a 2015 Hyundai Accent. The contact stated that while driving at 60 MPH, the contact was informed by someone on the road that their vehicle was emitting smoke. The contact pulled to the side of the road and then the vehicle caught fire. No warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was towed to a lot. The vehicle had not been diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The origin of the fire was unknown. The fire was located in the engine and underneath the engine. The fire department extinguished the fire. A fire department report was filed. A police department report was not filed. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. My horn is honking uncontrollably especially, when making left turns. Right turns, sometimes. Confusing a lot of drivers in the street and also some has become aggressive. Initially, I thought my hand was accidentally hitting the horn until I recently became worse over the past week or so.

My car unexpectedly caught fire while driving at LAX airport on June 21, 2023 around 11-11:30a.m. The whole car burned within a few minutes. There was nothing I could do.
