  • Service Brakes, Hydraulic 06/04/2024

    The contact owns a 2014 Hyundai Accent. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V651000 (Service Brakes, Hydraulic) however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The local dealer was contacted and confirmed that parts were not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. Parts distribution disconnect.

  • Air Bags 01/05/2024

    The contact owned a 2014 Hyundai Accent. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle was rear-ended by another vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed. As a result, the contact's vehicle careened to the shoulder of the roadway and came to a complete stop after colliding with a barrier wall, completely compressing the rear of the vehicle. The air bags did deploy but failed to reach maximum inflation. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was towed to a tow yard and deemed a total loss by the contact's insurance provider. A police report was filed, and injuries were reported. The contact was transported to an area hospital by a relative and was treated for nondescript injuries to her neck and back. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.

    After seeing a mechanic the problem was a rod bearing connector failure which caused metal shavings to clog and restrict the oil flow, starting as a small knock and quickly turned into a loud horrible knock, power failure and ultimately my engine to seize. the same engine as the 2015-2016 Velosters recall, a 1.6L gamma gdi engine, the same exact issues and problems accrued and caused that’s specific model to recall, but I believe that many more models with this specific engine are faulty due to the same problem.

    The contact owned a 2014 Hyundai Accent. The contact received notification of the NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V651000 (Service Brakes, Hydraulic), however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 70 MPH, other drivers motioned for the contact to pull over, however, the brakes became inoperable. The emergency brake was used to stop the vehicle and the front tires popped. The contact stated that the vehicle caught on fire and observed fire coming from the hood. The Fire department was called and extinguished the fire. There was no fire department report filed. The police department declined to file a report, however, there was an incident report filed. No injuries were sustained. The vehicle was towed to the contact's residence. The vehicle was later towed to a junkyard where it was diagnosed as a total loss.     On several occasions have hit Mt brakes and it felt like they wasn't engaging it felt as if they wasn't going to stop once I released my foot and pressed the break again and it engaged ,this was a scarey situation fear of the car not stopping, I belive this is a part of the recall
