2015 Honda Fit Complaints

  • Electrical System, unknown Or Other 10/01/2025

The start/stop switch on my 2015 Honda Fit failed — a known defect acknowledged by Honda through Service Bulletin A20-098. A faulty start/stop switch creates serious safety hazards including the inability to start the vehicle in an emergency, becoming stranded in dangerous locations such as intersections or highways, and potential inability to shut the engine off. My vehicle is UNDER the mileage threshold specified in the bulletin, yet Honda refused to cover any portion of my $750 repair. This lack of professional accountability could lead to other consumers avoiding this costly repair, which in turn could create dangerous situations.

The contact stated that the incident was significantly frightening because the contact was a disabled heart patient, and there were two plates in the contact's neck due to a previous accident. Odometer screen, which includes mileage, fuel gauge, time and any check engine information, will regularly blink, appear blank, show unreadable characters or a combination of the three on mornings with an external temperature of 60 F or below. Reading up on Honda Fit forums, it appears to be faulty hardware and/or poor solder joints that are cracking. More complaints can be found here: https://www.fitfreak.net/forums/3rd-generation-2015/95284-2015-fit-odometer-display-goes-haywire.html While there is a separate low fuel and check engine light in the panel, this is far more than a simple quality of life device and could cause a significant safety risk to the driver. Honda should be responsible for the repair or replacement of the display.
