  • Structure 05/01/2026

    The paint on the rear trunk area has failed and it is chipping off in large amounts. The missing paint exposes the area to corrosion and reduces structural integrity of the components. American Honda was informed about the paint defect and the car was inspected by Hendrick Honda on 5/27/26 as requested by American Honda.

  • Air Bags 06/06/2026

    The contact owns a 2017 Honda Civic. The contact stated that while driving from a complete stop and making a left turn, the contact heard a boom, and the front driver's side airbag suddenly deployed without warning or impact. The airbag hit the contact's hand. The contact received medical attention, and a stent was placed in the contact's arm up to the elbow. The vehicle was towed to a towing lot. The insurance company was informed of the failure. The local dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 140,000.

    The contact owns a 2017 Honda Civic. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the steering wheel suddenly became firm, causing the vehicle to pull to one side. The contact was able to continue driving until arriving to the residence, and the steering wheel became inoperable. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, where it was diagnosed but not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the issue. The approximate failure mileage was 144,000.

    When driving at least 55 mph the steering wheel becomes stiff and auto correct on it own. This consistently happen during the duration of the ride.

    When you driving at any speed but mainly when the vehicle is traveling at least 45 mph or more. When you have to abruptly stop, occasionally you will hear a bike horn sound. I have no clue what's causing it and/or where the noise is coming from.
