Safety Recall 19B/NHTSA 24V-198/SABIC Inflator. Two (2) recall notices have been received (March 2024 and May 2025). A local Chicago area dealership, Tyson Chrysler, advises that replacement parts have not been received for the 2019 model vehicles, but have been received for model years 2020 and 2021. As a result, the potential danger associated with possible rupture of the SABIC Inflator Curtains in my 2019 Chrysler 300S continues to exist, and may lead to catastrophic failure and personal injury as the vehicle repair remains unresolved.

The contact owns a 2019 Chrysler 300. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V198000 (AIR BAGS); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The dealer was made aware of the issue. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure; however, the contact stated there was an abnormal sound between the dashboard and the engine. The contact stated while driving 20 MPH, the vehicle started to make an abnormal sound. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer; however, the dealer was not able to diagnose the vehicle. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 50,000.
