  • Power Train, engine 03/01/2026

    The contact owns a 2019 Chevrolet Traverse. The contact stated that while driving at 15-30 MPH and shifting gears, the vehicle failed to accelerate. The vehicle began to shudder at 50-60 MPH. The yellow engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who determined the gear system needed to be replaced. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined a new gear system was needed. There was no warranty coverage. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified. The approximate failure mileage was 88,000.

    The contact owns a 2019 Chevrolet Traverse. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, she felt an imbalance in her rear driver side tire. The vehicle was taken to both a dealer and an independent mechanic where they inspected the vehicle and discovered that the toe links were defective on both the rear driver side and rear passenger side tires. The contact was given an estimate for the repair at the dealer. The manufacturer had yet to be notified of the failure. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 120,000.

    Odometer Fraud. The contact purchased a 2019 Chevrolet Traverse. The contact stated that they discovered a mileage discrepancy after the purchase. The vehicle was a private sale. At the time of purchase, the vehicle mileage was 141,670. It was later discovered that the vehicle’s title mileage was 301,887. The contact discovered the discrepancy when he tried to trade in the vehicle and the dealer ran the Carfax. The mileage was listed on Carfax back on August 14, 2025.

    Our 2019 traverse transmission around 130,000 miles started shuddering when slowly accelerating or driving. Not sure what causes this but I do know that it should be doing this as well as getting the Shift to Park message. I looked online and found that it's supposed to be the torque converter. I then contacted a transmission repair specialist and he stated that changing the fluid may make it worse or make it possibly fail altogether. Then I found a video about Shudder Fix and I added one of those packets to the transmission and it stopped the shudder but it now seems to be trying to creep back. This is a known issue with most people not being able to afford the $9000+ repair costs. The Shift to park issue is another issue that shouldn't be happening and the dealership will charge an arm and a leg for the repairs on this as well.     I took my vehicle for an oil change to the Tracy Chevrolet dealership. I was informed that they detected a leak. I returned my vehicle on 4/28/26 for an inspection. My vehicle on has 59,297 miles. I was just informed that my timing cover located at the front of the engine has a leak and possibly the oil pan. After doing research, this seems to be a common issue.
